Welcome to the Going Green with Rocco website! Going Green with Rocco is a show that’s aimed to the millions of home owners just like you, who want to learn about how they can have less wasteful homes and do their part to save the environment.

  • Did you know that the average household burns five tons of coal a year?
  • Did you know that collectively America burns over a billion tons of coal?
  • Or, did you know that to meet the projected demand of America, We have to build from thirteen hundred to nineteen hundred power plants?
  • That's a new power plant every week for twenty years.

We drain the land, and put the waste we create back into the land like its all better. It’s not going to help. Something needs to be done. To save our future we need to start now.

Our goal is to introduce both homeowners and remodeling contractors to the benefits of the Home performance with energy star testing, to show viewers how to live green, and also save money by making their homes more energy efficient.

Since Living green, and saving money go hand in hand, we thought to let you know about some of the benefits of green living. A green product or practice is one that does one or more of these things.

  • Improves the indoor air quality of the home, thereby improving the health of the people that live in it.
  • Lowers pressure on the environment through use of products that support responsible manufacturing and sustainable harvesting of natural resources, such as lumber, water, and extracted materials.
  • Reduces the use of water throughout the home, thereby lowering demands on fresh water sources and the energy intensive infrastructure required to pipe, store, and purify it.
  • Reduces the "Carbon Footprint" of a home—the amount of energy that will be burned to heat and cool a home over its lifetime—which calls for efficient appliances, lighting, windows, and doors, and an energy efficient building envelope.
  • Reduces the chemical danger and exposure risks to people working on, or eventually, living in the home.
